Island Safari Tour - Cruise Ship Visitors Koh Samui
4.9You've got about five hours between docking and departure — this jeep safari is built around exactly that window. Pickup meets your ship at the pier at 10:00, and you're back with time to spare before the 16:00 return. Along the way: the Angthong Marine Park viewpoint at Wat Teepangkorn (635m up, worth the climb), the hand-carved Magic Garden, Na Muang Waterfall for a swim if you want one, and a mountain-restaurant lunch that's included, not an upsell. Small open-air jeeps, not a coach — you'll actually see the island, not just the inside of a bus.
This exclusive island safari is specially customized for cruise ship visitors looking to escape the crowds. We’ll pick you up from the pier in off-road jeeps for a personalized adventure in small, manageable groups. Every stop is perfectly timed to match your docking schedule, so you can discover Samui's hidden attractions without any stress. This family-friendly excursion offers the perfect mix of fun and adventure for all ages!

The tour day
Morning Pick-up
The local operator will pick you up in an open off-road jeep at the port and then guide you to the south of Koh Samui. The driver is waiting for you to arrive, between 9:45 & 10:00 a.m., at the arrival port of Nathon! (Meeting point!) Due to program logistics, you must be at the meeting point on time!
Viewpoint
The first stop of today's exciting jungle safari is at a sensational viewpoint. From here you have a breathtaking view over the Gulf of Thailand, overlooking the famous Angthong Marine National Park, the legendary full moon party island of Koh Phangan, and Samui's beaches. More about this will explain from the guide on side.
Mountain Temple
Wat Teepangkorn is the highest point on the paradise island of Koh Samui. At 635 meters above sea level, it offers an unforgettable 360-degree view all around the island and the Samui Archipelago. There is a small art museum and some monks are living here at this unique peaceful place far away from civilization.
Magic Garden
From here we will continue to a magic place in the middle of the mountains. A visit to the unique magic garden in the mountains of Koh Samui. The creative stone sculptures, figures and other objects exhibited there were hand-carved and tapped in 1976 by the 77-year-old owner.
Lunch
With our 4x4 off-road jeep, we take you to one of the beautiful mountain restaurants with a breathtaking view of the coconut island of Koh Samui. Here you will be served a delicious, extensive lunch and water. There is guaranteed something for every taste.
Mummified Monk
A special insight into Thai culture is the mummified monk Luong Pordaeng. He died in 1973 in a meditative sitting position. The body of the deceased, who has died for over 30 years, shows hardly any signs of decay and is on display in a glass display case in the temple Wat Khunaram in the south of the island.
Waterfall 1
Na Muang Waterfall 1 is one of the most popular waterfalls on Koh Samui. Due to its large natural swimming pool and high water level all year round, many visitors and locals come to see the natural spectacle. In contrast to many other waterfalls on Koh Samui, the access here is very easy.
Coconut
The third largest island in Thailand is Koh Samui and 100 years ago it was the only island supplying the rest of the country with coconuts. Back then, coconuts were still picked by hand, sent to Bangkok and from there to the rest of the world. Due to the coconut export, Thailand experienced an economic boom. You can find out more about the popular coconut here.
Beach time
Now you have some time to unwind and swim in the warm water of one of Samui's lonely beaches or just relax on the beach. We recommend taking swimwear and a beach towel with you on the adventurous island safari.
We bring you back
Around 3:00 p.m. we will bring you back to the port of Nathon where you will arrive around 4:00 p.m. Since this is an excursion by our partner, our usual back-to-ship guarantee is void. Of course, our partner always has top priority to bring you back to your ship on time! Don't worry!!

What travelers loved

We opted for a private tour, which although more costly, suited our group. It meant we could go at our own pace and leave different stops along the route, when we were ready. Our guide was very knowledgeable and the lunch at the mountain top restaurant was amazing. Great views at the mountain top and we travelled from tropical coast line to lush jungle vegetation along the way.

We had such a great day! We are a party of 10 and had a private jeep tour. We were collected at the time advised from our hotel and our guide (who he said his name was pronounced Arm in English) explained to us what we would be doing during.the day. The temples we visited were amazing and the guide was great at telling us all the relevant information with a mix of humour …

Really enjoyed the tour. There were so many stops and sites that were covered that at the end of the tour I was so knackered, but had lots of good memories and photos. Driver was early / prompt. Had issue with my booking, customer service fixed the issue fast and smooth.

The tour was well organised, from the booking, the pick up arrangement to the full experience of a day packed with impressions. Thanks to Jacky and the crew for that amazing day
