Half Day Activity Elephant Home Shelter
5.0Forget the filtered "tourist" version of Thailand. Most people come to Samui for the beaches; you’re here for something that actually matters. Welcome to a sanctuary that doesn't just "show" elephants—it fights for them. This isn't a photo op; it’s a high-stakes mission in a massive, untamed wilderness. We aren't playing house. We are actively building Koh Samui’s first-ever Elephant Hospital. As our rescued family grows, "good intentions" aren't enough—they need surgery rooms, recovery bays, and professional medical care. Your visit is the fuel for this engine.

The tour day
Morning or Afternoon Pick-up
Jump into our comfy AC-minibus around 8:00 a.m. or 1:00pm! We’ll swing by your hotel and head over to the elephant home animal shelter in the south of Samui. We’ll pick up some other fellow explorers along the way, so it’s a great time to get into the island mood.
Welcome and Introduction
When you arrive at the elephant shelter, there you will be warmly welcomed, and you will be received an introduction about the concept and objective from samui elephant Home. The elephants here can have a pleasant everyday life. As you will experience for yourself, the mahouts and employees of the elephant shelter treat the magnificent pachyderms very lovingly and sensitively.
Preparation of the meal
Participate in preparing a meal and learn how to make supplementary food for elephants. Afterward, you will feed organic food from our camp such as grass and bananas and interact to take picture with elephants. It will be an emotional, unique moment.
Watch the elephants
As soon as the pachyderms have enjoyed their meal, you can also take the time to watch the elephants while they are strolling through the extensive grounds. The elephants need a rest break, which the trained staff pays very careful attention to. If you have any questions, the employees are always at your disposal.
Enjoy with elephants
After the elephants have rested, they often have fun playing and taking a pleasant dip. Now you have the unique opportunity to experience the participation to play and shower with elephants in the giant bath to take care of the elephants. Now it's worth having the camera ready because you won't get that close to an elephant that's used to humans.
We bring you back
Around 12:00 p.m. for the morning and 5:00 p.m. for the afternoon program, we will drive you safe back to your place. We'll be dropping everyone off one by one along the way, so just sit back and enjoy the ride!

This was a great tour for us. We were picked up at the cruise port and transported in a private van to the sanctuary. When we arrived we were warmly greeted and offered drinks and snacks. We were given a safety lecture and then made the treats we later fed to the elephants. We then went and fed the elephants. We were able to interact with all the elephants they had on …

Absolut empfehlenswert!

We booked an afternoon tour to the elephant camp while visiting on the Norwegian Sun. The pickup was a few minutes late as other guests were being collected from local hotels. We were starting to get a bit anxious as we were on a tight time limit. The transport arrived and it was only a 20 minute journey to the camp. There was a briefing at the start, then we set …

From the pick up, this tour is wonderful! The staff, their knowledge and the true love for these creatures is amazing. Getting to know about each elephants history and how they came to be at the home helps create the understanding of everything needed to care for these beautiful animals. Making their food and feeding them is a real treat and contributing to their …
